Create, and Innovate like…
Think Like Leonardo da Vinci…
a Workshop to Enhance Creativity
Leonardo da Vinci was one of the most brilliant innovators, artists, and thinkers of all time. His glorious paintings such as the Mona Lisa, the Last Supper and his work on proportion and symmetry have inspired generations. His architectural designs and innovations were centuries ahead of their time. Da Vinci was the quintessential thinker and Renaissance Man.
This segment of the Learn from the Masters series is for all who want to explore the thinking of and learn from the best teachers, namely the creative giants of the past. The information and training provided will be invaluable not only for musicians, writers, painters, graphic artists, and sculptors but also for those engaged in other creative pursuits and professions and such as advertising, design, and in research and development of new products and processes.
Through modern teaching techniques we can now learn to integrate his innovative thought patterns into our practices. We too can have the opportunity to reach new levels of curiosity, creativity, innovation, and performance. By questioning self-imposed limits of creativity and incorporating Leonardo’s methods and thought patterns we will have wider access to our intellectual and creative powers.
Writers contemporary with Leonardo describe how he would take time off from working on a commission and spend half a day or more in what looked like deep daydreaming, then resumed work, refreshed and imbued with new ideas. At other times he would paint for several days at a stretch, forgetting to eat and losing track of time. Evidently these cognitive shifts were very much part of his life and creativity and indicate that he was experiencing what is now known as the state of “flow”. Our exercises are designed to replicate these cognitive shifts for participants.
Objectives
Supercharge the connection with your inner artistic talents and establish new initiatives for creativity and excellence.
• Discover your best thinking skills with the Think Like Self-Assessment
(TLSA) test and discover parallels between your and Leonardo’s thinking.
• Gain insights and new ideas with the Think Like Leonardo Workbook that outlines practice exercises to help you to gain from Leonardo’s secrets of innovation and design.
• Learn several crucial skills that will be beneficial to you not just in the creative fields but also in life in general. We will teach you how focus your attention and to eliminate distractions from left-brain chatter. These acquisitions will facilitate making the shift from left to right-brain thinking. Acquiring these skills and exercising them with consistency will take up most of the workshop time.
This triad of skills and the insights gained with the self-assessment test form the centerpiece of the presentation.
